Free Ways to Export Your LinkedIn Profile as a PDF

You can get a free PDF from LinkedIn’s own Save to PDF command, where the feature is available. Several resume builders also offer free PDF downloads, but the import, template, branding, and download limits differ. Kickresume, for example, offers free downloads while putting LinkedIn import behind Premium.

Choose whether you need a snapshot of the profile or an edited resume for an application.

Download LinkedIn’s profile PDF

In a desktop browser, open the profile and find More or Resources in the introduction section near the name and headline. Choose Save to PDF if it appears.

LinkedIn’s help page says the feature can save your profile or another member’s. It isn’t available in the mobile app, requires English profile and member-language settings, and may not be available to all members.

If the option is missing, check the device, menu, and language settings. Changing one setting does not guarantee that the feature becomes available.

Open the downloaded PDF before sending it. Check contact details, role dates, education, and any long lists. LinkedIn controls this export’s layout and content selection; the command doesn’t offer a resume-editing step. If the file meets the recipient’s request, you may not need another tool.

Print the profile from the browser

Use the browser’s print command and select its PDF destination, if available. Expand relevant sections first and inspect the print preview. A PDF printed from a web page is not necessarily image-only, but it can retain web-page elements and omit content that wasn’t loaded.

Check each page for navigation, sidebars, clipped text, and incomplete sections. This route can work for an archive copy. For an application, use the resulting file only if it contains the relevant information in a readable form and matches the employer’s instructions.

Start in a resume builder

Resumonk, Kickresume, Rezi, and Teal document different free offers. Separate the step of importing from the step of downloading:

• Resumonk: the free plan imports a cached LinkedIn profile and exports a branded PDF. Its paid AI plans include importing the latest profile and DOCX export, excluding photo templates.
• Kickresume: free PDF downloads use its basic options. LinkedIn and PDF import are Premium features.
• Rezi: the free plan supports one resume and three PDF downloads. DOCX is listed in Pro.
• Teal: the builder page states unlimited free PDF and Word downloads. Its pricing page separately limits free keyword matching to the top five and provides ten bullet credits plus two each for summaries and cover letters.

URL importers need enough profile content to be publicly readable. A profile may still have a URL when its content isn’t public. If that route fails, consider an offered file or text import instead of assuming the address itself doesn’t exist.

What ExportMyResume provides free

ExportMyResume reads your own signed-in profile through a browser extension. You can import and edit manually without an ExportMyResume account. It doesn’t require your profile to be public or depend on LinkedIn’s Save to PDF command.

Free downloads are TXT and a watermarked PNG. TXT is useful for pasting into an application form. PNG is an image preview; some software can recognize image text, but use an accepted text-based document for an application rather than relying on OCR.

Pick the file for the recipient

For someone requesting a copy of your LinkedIn profile, try the built-in export first. For an application requiring changes to the content, use an editor and check the resulting resume. If you need a free PDF, choose among the documented free plans with their import and download restrictions in mind.

If the employer requests Word, use a builder that provides it on your chosen plan, or prepare it in a word processor. Check the DOCX after opening it in Word, especially the page breaks and the final section.
